Acid reflux symptoms caused by stomach acid, are much like heartburn or indigestion, which is a terrible burning feeling that moves up from the stomach to the esophagus or swallowing tube to the throat and sometimes includes a feeling of uncomfortable stomach pain or indigestion.
It can also include a throat burning and throwing up feeling.
Most people that have acid reflux symptoms feel horrible and can't get relief from the painful burning feeling fast enough. It's like being burned alive in your throat, it can be that painful, like there is a fire in your throat-it hurts that badly. And you want to put that fire out as fast as possible.
Each person may have different Acid Reflux Symptoms because of several different factors. Some of these factors influence symptoms. Body build, body physiology, diet, junk food, lifestyle, water intake, tobacco, alcohal, medications, and anatomy.
So people may have the same type of acid reflux yet have different symptoms for the same thing.
There may be a feeling of stomach fullness or bloating and nausea after eating a meal. Another symptom may be sore throat.
If pressure is put on the stomach after a heavy meal, like bending over to pick something up or bending to lift a heavy object symptoms can occur. Also laying down flat without a pillow can bring on symptoms, especially if you eat right before you go to sleep. Pregnant women, especially in later pregnancy when their stomach is bigger, can experience symptoms while laying down on their back.
Burping and feeling stomach contents backing up to create a sour taste in the mouth, and possibly feeling like vomiting are common. Yuk again! You might find yourself brushing your teeth and gargling with mouthwash to try and get rid of the sour taste. If food gets stuck in the throat, unable to swallow, nothing is going down, then during this gagging, choking episode lots of saliva is created with the person spitting out saliva because s/he can not swallow.
The tenseness of the situation may cause the esophagus to tighten up and go into spasm and the person is unable to swallow until s/he relaxes enough. This allows the esophagus musles to relax and stop the spasm so swallowing is possible. Acid reflux symptoms we've addressed:
